A-10 THUNDERBOLT II “WARTHOG”

U.S. AIR FORCE HERITAGE FLIGHT DEMONSTRATION

This venerable and remarkable ground attack warrior will amaze spectators with its maneuverability. Recognized by many as the absolute best anti-tank plane in the world, it has seen combat all over the world since the first one flew in 1972. The official name is Thunderbolt II, but fondly referred to as the Warthog. Indeed, compared to the sleek and beautiful F-16, some may say it is ugly. However, it is beautiful to its pilots and especially gorgeous to the soldier and marines on the ground when it comes to help out, getting rid of the bad guys. The A-10 pilot is well protected in a titanium tub, the cannon in its nose can eliminate any tank, and it can sustain a huge amount of damage and still fly and fight.
