Los Angeles County Air Show Announces Heroes and Legends Aviation History Panels

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 9, 2018) – The Los Angeles County Air Show presented by Lockheed Martin, scheduled for March 24–25, promises to thrill visitors with both a dynamic “In the Air” show and an amazing, interactive “On the Ground” show, which includes a series of avionic history panels featuring globally renowned speakers. 

“In addition to our headline act, the USAF F-22 Raptor Demo Team, we have a line-up of performers and static displays that could not be convened anywhere except the Antelope Valley. This is the fifth consecutive year of the Show, honoring the long history of aeronautical “First, Fastest and Farthest,” and the third consecutive year our event will host an amazing line-up of iconic speakers, whose deeds and true-life tales are known around the world,” Los Angeles County Air Show President Ronda Perez said.

The Heroes and Legends Aviation History Panels are made possible by both Northrop Grumman and JT3. Panels begin at 9:30 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday. The schedule includes:

SATURDAY, MARCH 24, 2018

Red Bull Stratos and Free Falling from Space

Col Joe Kittinger (USAF Ret) First World Altitude Record 1960-2012

• Art Thompson – Sage Cheshire, Red Bull Stratos

• Alan Eustace, Current World Altitude Record Holder, his record set in 2014

10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Lockheed Martin at 75 Years

Jack Gordon, Former President, Lockheed Skunkworks 1994 to 1999, heavily involved in the development of the SR-71 and Steve Justice, Former Director Advanced Systems, Lockheed Martin Skunkworks

• Bob Gilliland, Legendary SR-71 First Flight Test Pilot
